Hastelloy Sheets

Hastelloy sheets are a type of metal sheet that is highly resistant to corrosion and can withstand high temperatures. These sheets are made from a nickel-based alloy that contains chromium, molybdenum, and other elements. Hastelloy sheets are widely used in industries such as chemical processing, aerospace, and marine engineering due to their unique properties.

The corrosion-resistant properties of hastelloy sheets make them ideal for use in harsh environments where other metals would quickly degrade. They can withstand exposure to corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, and salts without corroding or rusting. Types of Hastelloy Sheets

 

Hastelloy sheets are a type of nickel alloy that is known for its excellent corrosion resistance in highly corrosive environments. There are several types of hastelloy sheets available, each with unique properties and applications.

One of the most popular types is hastelloy C276 sheet, also known as hastelloy alloy C276 sheet. This type is resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-containing environments. It is often used in chemical processing equipment, pulp and paper production, waste treatment facilities, and more.

Another common type is hastelloy B2 sheet. This variant has excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. It is commonly used in chemical processing equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, and distillation columns.

Other types include hastelloy X sheet (known for its high-temperature strength), hastelloy C22 sheet (resistant to both oxidizing and reducing environments), and hastelloy G30 sheet (resistant to phosphoric acid).

Hastelloy C-276 Sheet

Hastelloy C-276 is a versatile alloy that offers excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation in various environments. It contains nickel, molybdenum, and chromium with small amounts of tungsten and iron. The high molybdenum content makes it highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Hastelloy C-276 sheet is commonly used in chemical processing industries due to its excellent resistance to strong oxidizers like ferric and cupric chlorides, chlorine dioxide, and wet chlorine gas.

Hastelloy C-22 Sheet

Hastelloy C-22 is another popular alloy that offers superior resistance to both oxidizing and reducing environments. It contains nickel, chromium, molybdenum with small amounts of tungsten and iron. The high chromium content provides excellent resistance against oxidizing agents like ferric acids or chlorine-containing media while the molybdenum content provides protection against reducing media such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid solutions. Hastelloy C-22 sheet is commonly used in chemical processing equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, evaporators, scrubbers due to its exceptional performance against aggressive chemicals.

Hastelloy G Sheet

Hastelloy G is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with additions of copper and iron which enhances its corrosion resistance properties significantly compared to other alloys within the same family group as hastelloys c 276 and c 22. Hastelloy G sheet is commonly used in chemical processing industries due to its excellent resistance to oxidizing and reducing media, especially in high-temperature environments.

Hastelloy X Sheet

Hastelloy X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy that offers exceptional strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures up to 2200°F (1200°C). It contains higher amounts of chromium, molybdenum, and iron compared to other hastelloys which makes it more resistant to oxidation and corrosion in high-temperature applications. Hastelloy X sheet is commonly used in gas turbine engines, industrial furnace components, and heat-treating equipment due to its excellent high-temperature performance.
