Nickel Alloy Pipe and Pipe Fittings

nickel alloy pipes and pipe fittings hero

Nickel Alloy pipes and pipe fittings are essential components in various industries due to their excellent resistance to corrosion and high-temperature applications. At Om Steel, we provide high-quality Nickel Alloy pipes and pipe fittings made from different grades of nickel alloys, each with unique features and properties.

One of the popular grades of Nickel Alloy pipes is Nickel 200, which offers exceptional resistance to corrosion in neutral and reducing environments. It also has good thermal and electrical conductivity, making it ideal for electrical and electronic applications. Another widely used grade is Nickel 201, which has similar corrosion resistance to Nickel 200 but with lower carbon content, making it more suitable for applications where lower carbon content is preferred.

Om Steel also offers Nickel Alloy pipes made from other grades such as Nickel 400, Nickel 625, and Nickel 718. Nickel 400 is known for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance in various environments, while Nickel 625 offers exceptional resistance to high temperatures and corrosive environments. Nickel 718, on the other hand, has high strength and excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation at high temperatures. Our Nickel Alloy pipe fittings are available in different grades, including Elbows, Tees, Crosses, Caps, and Reducers, and can be customized to different sizes and thicknesses to meet specific application requirements.

Types of Nickel Alloy Pipes

Nickel alloy pipes are widely used in various industries due to their excellent resistance to corrosion, high-temperature strength, and durability. These pipes are made from a combination of nickel and other metals such as chromium, molybdenum, and iron.

Inconel 600 Pipes

Inconel 600 is a popular nickel-chromium alloy that is widely used in high-temperature applications. It has excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures up to 2000°F. Inconel 600 pipes are commonly used in chemical processing plants, heat treating furnaces, and nuclear power plants.

Monel 400 Pipes

Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy that offers excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, acidic solutions, and alkaline solutions. It has good mechanical properties at both room temperature and elevated temperatures up to 1000°F. Monel 400 pipes are commonly used in marine engineering, chemical processing equipment, and oil refineries.

Hastelloy C276 Pipes

Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy that offers exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and oxidizing environments such as chlorides and sulfuric acid solutions. It has good mechanical properties at high temperatures up to 1900°F. Hastelloy C276 pipes are commonly used in chemical processing plants, pulp & paper mills, and waste treatment facilities.

Incoloy 800/800H/800HT Pipes

Incoloy 800/800H/800HT is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy that offers excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization at high temperatures up to 2300°F. It also has good strength and ductility at elevated temperatures. Incoloy 800/800H/800HT pipes are commonly used in heat exchangers, petrochemical processing, and power generation.

Nickel 200/201 Pipes

Nickel 200/201 is a commercially pure nickel alloy that offers excellent resistance to various corrosive environments such as acids, alkalis, and neutral salts. It has good mechanical properties at both room temperature and elevated temperatures up to 600°F. Nickel 200/201 pipes are commonly used in chemical processing plants, electronic components manufacturing, and aerospace industry.

Alloy 20 Pipes

Alloy 20 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that offers excellent resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion, pitting corrosion, and intergranular corrosion. It also has good mechanical properties at both room temperature and elevated temperatures up to 1000°F. Alloy 20 pipes are commonly used in chemical processing plants, pharmaceuticals & food processing equipment.

Inconel 625 Pipes

Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy that offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and high-temperature oxidation up to 1800°F. It also has good strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures down to -423°F. Inconel 625 pipes are commonly used in aerospace industry components such as aircraft ducting systems.

Carpenter® Alloy C-276 Pipes

Carpenter® Alloy C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tungsten alloy that offers exceptional resistance to severe corrosive environments such as chlorides, sulfuric acid solutions, and reducing chemicals like phosphoric acid or hydrochloric acid mixtures with chlorine ions present within the solution environment itself (e.g., bleach). Carpenter® Alloy C-276 pipes are commonly used in chemical processing plants where highly corrosive chemicals are processed.

Types of Nickel Alloy Pipe Fittings

There are various types available at Omsteel. The three most common types are forged fittings, butt weld fittings, and customized options. Each type has its own unique properties and advantages depending on the application.

Forged Fittings

Forged fittings are made by heating a piece of metal and then hammering it into shape. This process creates a very strong fitting that is resistant to corrosion and can withstand high pressure applications. Forged fittings come in various shapes such as tees, elbows, couplings, and unions.

One of the main advantages of forged fittings is their strength. They are able to handle high-pressure applications without cracking or breaking. Additionally, they have excellent resistance to corrosion which makes them ideal for use in harsh environments.

Butt Weld Fittings

Butt weld fittings are made by welding two pieces of metal together at the ends. This creates a very strong bond that is able to withstand high pressure applications. Butt weld fittings come in various shapes such as tees, elbows, reducers, and caps.

One advantage of butt weld fittings is their ability to create a seamless connection between pipes. This reduces the risk of leaks and ensures that the system operates efficiently. Additionally, they have excellent resistance to corrosion which makes them ideal for use in harsh environments.

Customized Options

Customized options refer to any type of fitting that is specifically designed for a particular application. These can include special shapes or sizes that are not readily available in standard fittings.

The advantage of customized options is their ability to meet specific requirements for an application. They can be designed with unique features such as increased durability or improved performance which can improve the overall efficiency of the system.

Flanges

Flanges are another type of nickel alloy pipe fitting that is commonly used in piping systems. They are used to connect pipes, valves, and other equipment to create a secure and leak-proof connection.

One advantage of flanges is their ability to be easily installed and removed. This makes them ideal for applications where frequent maintenance or repairs are required. Additionally, they have excellent resistance to corrosion which makes them ideal for use in harsh environments.

Welding

Welding is the process of joining two pieces of metal together by melting them at the point of contact. This creates a strong bond that is able to withstand high pressure applications.

One advantage of welding is its ability to create a seamless connection between pipes. This reduces the risk of leaks and ensures that the system operates efficiently. Additionally, it allows for greater flexibility in designing piping systems as pipes can be joined at any angle or orientation.
