ASTM A479 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Round Bars and Rods Equivalent Grades

The most commonly used standard for duplex steel round bars is ASTM A479. It specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and other relevant requirements for stainless steel bars and shapes for use in boilers and pressure vessels.

UNS S31803/S32205

These grades are also known as F51/F60 or 2205 duplex stainless steel. They have a high chromium content (22%) and moderate nickel content (5%), which provides excellent corrosion resistance in various environments such as seawater, acidic solutions, and chloride-containing media.

UNS S32750

This grade is also known as F53 or 2507 super duplex stainless steel. It has a higher chromium (25%) and molybdenum (4%) content than S31803/S32205, which enhances its resistance to pitting corrosion caused by chlorides and other halide ions.

UNS S32760

This grade is also known as F55 or Zeron 100 super duplex stainless steel. It has a higher chromium (25%), molybdenum (3%), tungsten (1%), and copper (0.5%) content than S32750, which offers superior corrosion resistance in aggressive environments such as sulfuric acid solutions.
