Hastelloy Pipe and Pipe Fittings
Hastelloy pipe and pipe fittings are essential components in various industries, such as chemical processing, oil and gas, and power generation. These special alloys are known for their excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength, making them ideal for harsh environments where other materials would fail.
Hastelloy is a trademarked name for a family of alloys that contain nickel, molybdenum, chromium, iron, and other elements. The exact composition varies depending on the specific grade of Hastelloy. For instance, Hastelloy C276 has a higher molybdenum content than Hastelloy C22 or B2.
One of the main advantages of Hastelloy pipe fittings is their resistance to corrosion. They can withstand highly corrosive environments that would quickly degrade stainless steel or even brass connectors. This makes them suitable for use in chemical plants or offshore oil rigs where exposure to acids or salts is common.
Another benefit of Hastelloy pipe fittings is their ability to handle high temperatures without deforming or cracking. They can withstand heat treating processes that would damage ordinary steel or copper pipes. This makes them ideal for use in power plants or other high-temperature applications.
Hastelloy pipe fittings come in various shapes and sizes to suit different needs. Weld fittings are commonly used to connect two pipes together at a joint. Other types include threaded fittings and flanged connectors that allow easy disassembly for maintenance purposes.
At Om Steel, we prioritize product quality and customer satisfaction. Our Hastelloy Pipe and Pipe Fittings undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet international quality standards. With our expertise and commitment to excellence, we strive to provide reliable solutions to our clients.
Different Grades of Hastelloy Pipe
Hastelloy C276 – This grade is widely used in chemical processing industries due to its exceptional resistance to corrosive chemicals such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and chlorine gas.
Hastelloy C22 – This grade is ideal for use in environments where there is exposure to oxidizing agents such as ferric and cupric chlorides. It also has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
Hastelloy B2 – This grade is best suited for use in reducing environments such as hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures.
Hastelloy X – This grade has high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance up to 2200°F (1200°C). It is commonly used in gas turbine engines, industrial furnace applications, and petrochemical processing plants.
